Jimmie Johnson wins at Las Vegas raceway!

For the second week in a row Jimmie Johnson has won yet another race! This time Johnson was able to run against his teammate Jeff Gordon who led the most laps today. Jimmie kept a great running car at the front of the pack for most of the race, however, he was able to get four tires at the last pit stop and breeze past his teammate Gordon rather quickly (Gordon also got four tires at the pitstop). Congratulations to Johnson on yet another win and more so another step towards his fifth series cup!

Also noted should be Jeff Gordon's great run today. Leading the most laps and having the fastest car all day just couldn't pay off, "It was a Jeff Gordon day, until the end of the day" (Mike Joy). Hendrick Racing, however, is showing their strength in cars by consistently running in the top of the bracket week after week.

Kevin Harvick was also able to pull of another top five race by finishing second tonight at Vegas. Harvick is still the points leader and will continue to pull Richard Childress Racing to the top for a hopeful series cup. RCR has really redesigned their teams and cars after a lackluster season last year. The new RCR is in charge and ready to rival Hendrick's Racing for all they have!

Kevin Harvick is going to be the one to rival Jimmie Johnson! We are headed for Atlanta next week!

Jimmie Johnson wins Fontana!

Jimmie Johnson has just locked in his fifth career win at Fontana in the last fifteen starts at this California raceway! This is the 48th career all time win for the #48 Lowe's driver! This makes Jimmie Johnson the 12th driver with the most NASCAR wins in history!

Johnson fought off Kevin Harvick the #29 Pennzoil Chevy Impala as they battled in the last laps of the race. Harvick was running a high line and gaining quickly on the race leader Johnson! Johnson was in trouble as Harvick approached however Johnson blocked Harvick's high line and forced him high on the track in turn three. Harvick ended up tapping the wall and got wind under his car. Harvick lost quite a bit of track time and wasn't able to catch Johnson in the three remaining laps!

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick on a great NASCAR race!

Kevin Harvick is currently the NASCAR points leader and Jimmie Johnson is currently tenth on the points leaderboard.

Nascar Season 09!

With my favorite driver winning the Bud Shootout (Kevin Harvick), this marked the start of the new season. If you haven't already realized we are a couple races in and it's already getting exciting. With Matt Kenseth winning the Daytona 500 we now move onto Fontana. The race starts at 5 p.m. (ET) so don't forget to tune in and root for your favorite driver!

For the start of the 2009 Nascar Season I would like to know who you're rooting for and what's your reasoning you picked that driver this year. Is it their team, their new style of racing, their new attitude, or simply put that you've been a fan for years?

Hopefully we get a season of high tension and close pointed racing along with the "Chase for the Cup". I personally can't wait for tracks like Atlanta and Talladega which are some of the best races in my opinion. Atlanta is a quick track thats hard to run fast at, yet the competition is feirce. Talladega is a great track because of it's width and the shear amount of "almost wrecking" that goes on to just about the last corner on the last lap.

So here's to a great Nascar Season 2009!

Our New President Barack Obama!

Change is here for the United States in the form of Barack Obama. Let's enjoy the new president and what he has to offer. Aside from changing history forever, Barack plans to make many changes to fix the current economic conditions. From finding a solution to the war in Iraq, to the market crisis on Wall Street, President Barack Obama is here to help boost the American morale and intrigue all around the world to make changes for the better.
President Obama has already frozen salaries of many officials in the White House and plans many reforms for Guantanamo Bay in the next few weeks. The change is here and Obama is in gear!

The new presidency also marks a new year of Nascar collecting! Let's hope that 2009 will bring us a great Nascar season and a great selection of collectibles to purchase and trade among fans and others.

Nascar collecting and the economy are now meeting up with each other in a way that is stopping most fans from purchasing gear and accessories. With many exciting events in the past few weeks lets hope to broaden are view on the economy and have wishful thinking for our new soon to be president Barack Obama. NascarCollector.blgospot.com has seen a slowdown in visitors and many sites have even seen the sales of such goods slowing also. With that being said lets hope that we can continue to enjoy our Nascar items and continue to purchase only what we truly need and want. NASCAR Sprint, Nationwide, and Craftsman Series?

Today I would like to underline a topic that has always been on the mind of me as a Nascar fan an collector. For years and years Nascar has been a very competitive sport and each series (Sprint, Nationwide, and Craftsman) have their own racers and sponsors, even numbers!

The major factor I would like to discuss is the fact that each series offers different features for different skilled drivers and so forth. So would you come to the conclusion to say that series interchangeable drivers is fair? or unfair? By this I simply mean should drivers like Kyle Busch or Kevin Harvick be able to drive in both the Sprint, and Nationwide Series (Also Craftsman, if applied)?

It has been my opinion for years that each series is different so that other people can get into the certain series and gain coverage to someday race the highest series which is currently the Sprint Cup Series. Although with that being said we still see a few drivers that race both series simultaneously and have been for years.

This factor seems very unfair in my eyes due to the conclusion and assumption that higher ranked series drivers have more of an edge due to their somewhat of a veteran status with the Nascar sport. Meaning that they have more track time, and ultimately more practice and expertise under their belt then the drivers in the Nationwide and Craftsman Nascar series. Seeing that all these variables are arguable I would like to hear your responses on the topic and if you think it is fair or unfair? So before you take off, let me outline the major reasons why I think interchangeable driving in multiple Nascar series (Sprint, Nationwide, and Craftsman) seems unfair.

-Higher series drivers seem to have a veteran status with the Nascar sport and may have expertise when it comes to certain instances, like tracks, care handling etc.

-Each series of Nascar (Sprint, Nationwide, and Craftsman) have their own individual sponsors, shouldn't they have their own drivers? not repeats, this would be to allow talent to flow through the sport at a somewhat higher rate with more driver openings.

-Each series is meant for a certain driver, and if they made it into the Sprint, Nationwide, or Craftsman cup series then aren't they where they are supposed to be?

-If each driver who interchanged or raced both stayed in only one Nascar Series (Sprint, Nationwide, or Craftsman) then they could better their chances of winning races by having more time to practice and optimize one car at one track instead of multiples.

-And lastly opportunity, give other rising Nascar race car drivers the ability to get into the Nascar series by sticking to one series to offer more open positions for upcoming drivers.

What makes Nascar collecting so unique?

I always seem to get the question "why do you collect Nascar stuff?" and "what makes Nascar collecting so unique?".

So today I am going to answer just that question! Nascar collecting is something more than just having a bunch of race cars around your room or house, it's about enjoying what you have and respecting it for what it is. Nascar diecast and other Nascar branded items are usually quite expensive. So as you might think it takes quite a lot of dedication to grow and expand ones collection to the size of their choice.

Nascar items range from just five dollars up to hundreds depending on the item and the rarity of it also. So what makes Nascar collecting so unique is the fact that you get what you pay for. Every Nascar item that I have purchased has been very sturdy and to the utmost quality that I would ever expect. The uniqueness is that Nascar memorabilia is very rare in most cases with only few amounts of one item ever being made. This offers each collector to have something unique just to themselves and to enjoy the satisfaction that only so many people have the same piece.

The uniqueness outshines any other sports collecting in my opinion because unlike baseball cards and such you can actually build or buy a nice glass cabinet and display your diecast and show it off to guests unlike with baseball cards and such where they would fade and loose value.

It is always unique to have a Nascar piece, and as years go on they are getting more and more detailed in ways such as actual moving parts, removable chassis and such. The amount of memorabilia is always changing with new drivers and new areas to be explored such as diecast, clothing, stickers, children's toys and so on. This is what makes Nascar collecting so unique, the fact that we can enjoy our collection without jeopardizing its value and at the same time have fun with our favorite sport!

What makes Nascar collecting so unique is the shear uniqueness of each piece and the fans ability to enjoy and use every piece of Nascar memorabilia! No matter what you believe in, Nascar collecting is truly unique and should never be overlooked because you need to be a true fan to dedicate time and money to your Nascar collection. But remember every piece you add is making your Nascar collection more and more unique!

My favorite driver is Kevin Harvick. I have chosen Kevin Harvick because he is talented, very goal orientated, and always has the drive to drive his best in any situations.

While Harvick is known as "Happy Harvick" I'm sure that you all know that he has or should I say had a bad anger in the past few years. He is a very dedicated racer, and he let the little things bother him too much, but he seems to have grown as a person and racer over those years. He is currently in the top ten for the championship and running strong. Harvick is an oustanding racer and I believe he is the best Nascar driver! So who is your favorite driver?

NASCAR is something that only the true fans will understand. We will always have hecklers and people that will rise the anger in us by criticizing our favorite sport. NASCAR is something that takes dignity to understand. Many people can and will just turn on the television and promptly say "oh look at the boring race, all they do is race in a circle all day." While they do race in a circle most of a time, they do a lot more! NASCAR is a sport!

NASCAR is a real sport because it takes effort, dedication, planning, and sponsors to name a few. NASCAR drivers spend endless hours testing and tuning their cars for optimum performance so that they can win and earn money to continue their struggle to the top of the points and one day win the championship. NASCAR isn't just a Saturday and Sunday pass time, it's something of loud engines, fast cars, and neck to neck traffic that arises the NASCAR fan in all of us.

NASCAR is a real sport, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. So lets hit the topics quickly again so that we all have an understanding on how to define NASCAR as a sport.
1. NASCAR takes skill, you actually have to pay attention and know when to make moves.
2. NASCAR takes dedication! It takes lots of time to tune and optimize a cars performance. That also being that every track is different.
3. It takes money, NASCAR is a huge investment for companies that pay to have their logos advertised on a NASCAR. If it wasn't a sport, then Amped wouldn't have spent millions of dollars to sponsor Dale Jr. Of course unless they knew that they were going to make money and get their company air time! which they do.
4. NASCAR has 43 drivers every race, that doesn't seem like much, but drivers are always moving through the NASCAR devisions to get to the next rank and show off their talents and skills.
5. And finally the fact that NASCAR has devisions! If NASCAR wasn't a serious sport then their is no way there would be more than one devision, but there is. NASCAR has many devisions and is competitive in all ways, shapes, and forms making it an ideal sport.

So to all the NASCAR haters that don't believe driving a car over 150+ mph is a sport! it is. And NOOO NASCAR is not an acronym for Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks!

And remember all, it's fun to argue with your buddies, but don't take the feud too serious. NASCAR fans know deep down that we have the best sport of all. NASCAR is a sport!

1. You should always check for the best deal, search websites that are only top rated and have at the least a customer service department.
2. Try to stay away from Ebay due to the amount of replicas and blind truths such as number of cars made, and try to buy directly from an official NASCAR dealer, not an average consumer.
3. Check prices, the internet is full of deals, so search wisely and look for your apparel wisely!
4. Never give out your credit card number on any site unless it is secured. (check this by making sure there is a locked lock some where in your browser).
5. Be quick in purchases. What I mean is that many times you will find yourself going back on forth on what to purchase, but remember with Nascar Collectibles only certain amounts are made, so make your decision wisely and quickly.
